“3rd Root” is the new music project by
Jennifer Cabrera Fernandez, where
the contamination between elements
of traditional Mexican folk music mix
with their African matrix. “3rd Root”
speaks of its origins, of ancient
Mexican culture and the third root,
the African root in Mexico.
The show is a stirring mixture of song,
music and dance, where original pieces
are connected through the stories
and ritual shamanic experiences of
the artist.
All kinds of sounds and tribal dances
interweave with frenetic African
rhythms and spontaneous
improvisations linked to American
free jazz.
